Trip to Lamma Island

Lamma island is the third largest island in Honk Kong. It takes 30 min to go there on a ferry from Central HK. It is supposed to be quiet and clean, with a nice beach and fresh sea food...

When leaving HK at noon, the weather was already pretty bad,
but for some reason we thought that Lamma island is an island with a beach,
and
therefore is going to be
a
NICE
and
SUNNY
GETAWAY!

It was pouring when we arrived there!
But we still thought/hoped the sun is going to come out!
We went for coffee in a local bar
and
waited
and waited
and waited...

Until we realized that it will pour all day!

We couldn't get any wetter than what we already were,
so we decided to visit the 2 things there are on this island:
THE TEMPLE
and
the BEACH!

Are those mangos?
After a really short walk we reached the TIN HAU TEMPLE
Which was basically a little hut, really disappointing!
Actually, I am still not convinced that this is the actual temple.
But providing the weather conditions, I guess we were satisfied with what we found.
And we gave up looking for something bigger.

Another 15 min walk through a jungle-like-landscape
and
we made it to the beach...
it wasn't really hard to find

Most people were well equipped for the rain!
Even dogs wear RAINCOATS!

Oh, which reminds me, quote of the day:
"There are so many dogs here!"
did we say that:
"There are so many dogs here!"
and by the way:
"There are so many dogs here!"
And this little princess with her pink rubber boots!
In contrast to us: TOTALLY SOAKED!

Bananas?
Power Station
Bamboo?
Baby bananas?

And there we go...THE BEACH

We stopped for some SEAFOOD before we got back on the ferry!
Which was really fresh and therefore GOOD!!!!

And we were back in HK just in time for tea!
